Oktawia KrukMy passion for therapy began in high school. I have always been known as a friendly ear among my friends to be able to share struggles with. It is very difficult seeing someone you care for go through a challenging time, this is when I learned that being compassionate and listening can make a positive change in someone’s life.

My interest in therapy continues throughout college where I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in Clinical Psychology and continued my education at Roosevelt University where I received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Professional Psychology.

Throughout my school years I dedicated time to expand my knowledge by volunteering and interning at The Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center and completed my studies as an intern at the Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital Outpatient Group Practice. This was a wonderful opportunity that had helped me develop my specialty skills in working with young children from preschool up to middle school and allowed me to not only work with clients of all ages at the practice but also work with the school counselors.

My clinical experience includes working with individuals ages 3 to 65 providing skills to aid with anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD, trauma, stress, grief and loss, OCD, ODD, behavioral issues, attachment issues, life transitions, divorce, self-esteem, adoption, and foster care. I strive to help individuals develop more successful strategies for coping with life challenges and develop creative solutions to problems.
